The Trillium are bloomin' !
You know it must be spring if the wildflowers are blooming! But it is actually almost June, yup!!
We had a long cold spring, but finally the daytime temps are reaching the 60'-70's (except for those freak 50 to 90 days-we had 3 so far). In uppper Michigan the forest are full to the brim with Trillium wildflowers.Their delicate presence are welcome indeed. I even enjoy the dandelions. :)
Polly bulldog and I are on a Memorial day weekend respite in the U.P. while Dave golfs with work in sunny Arizona. The temps have been perfect from 55-70 and full sun everyday with no wind so feels really pleasant outside. I golfed 3 times in 4 days with only a handful of others on the beautiful local course. Polly and i play "Roofball" at least 3 times a day..she loves waiting for those tennis balls to drop off the roof after i hoist them up there (thanks to the tennis ball thrower:) She only wandered off into the backwoods once..a real trooper as she stays close to home with me(Bulldogs like humans more than adventure). She is not a walker, but we went on two great beach walks along the gorgeous Lake Superior coastline(where i had to rescue a few wet tennis balls- hehe). Polly loves to play "buried treasure" at the beach. After she retrieves the ball ,she proceeds to bury it in the sand..so funny to watch her making her own fun..smart Bulldog I say!!
One day we drove to Marquette to enjoy that beach along the way and beautiful views all the way there( only 40 min ride). Our first stop was at the Huron Bakery for some sour dough bread and maple donuts...yummmm! Then we made a stop at the "food co-op" (we joined a few yrs ago), to get some tasty : organic carrots, seedless dates rolled in coconut( my all time fav..would come just for these!!),dried sundried tomatoes, turkish apricots, spinach garlic crackers, wis. muenster cheese, annie's 4 grain white mac and cheese, dried bing cherries ,jasmine rice, spelt english muffins, raw blue agave syrup, grapeseed oil, organic capers, and sugar free coconut milk,. That should do it for unusual grocery finds!!
Well the time went too fast but we did alot in 4 days and it was a nice way to start Spring for me and Pollygirl!!
I will download some fun photos from our weeekend when i get home, as this computer is not cooperating for that..:(.
See ya!
